5 things to keep in mind when running a blog

The world of blogging is booming: sharing ideas, opinions and knowledge is much easier now. In this article I am going to give you 5 tips, things that you should keep in mind when running a blog.

This time I will not focus on WordPress configurations or plugins, but I will comment on those little details that we do not always take into account or do not know how beneficial they can be when working with a blog.

Organize your content well

We have already discussed this topic in our podcast, but I think it's worth remembering whenever I can. Having well-structured content is not only important for positioning, but also to make it easier for your users to navigate your website.

Also, if your content is well categorized and labeled, you will have much more control over it, avoiding its duplication, for example.

Check static pages

When you opened your blog, maybe a week or maybe 4 years ago, you probably created certain pages that you don't usually visit frequently: the contact page, the legal texts, etc. Check them out from time to time! The information in them may have changed over time, or you may even have missed a bug that was there from the beginning.

test your website

You have a blog, right? Then visit it! From time to time it is good to see your blog from the visitor's side, since this way you can discover errors that you would not have seen in any other way: A certain link does not lead to the site that it should, the entries do not look good on mobile... Even the contact form doesn't work! Now surely you already know why they had never contacted you 😛

Invite your readers to be aware of your content

Unless you have a blog where you publish several entries every day, getting a user to visit your site regularly is not an easy task.

Therefore, one of the most common practices is to redirect or invite your users to subscribe to your newsletter to be informed of everything you publish on your blog. In addition, it is advisable to also have accounts on different social networks since certain users will prefer to be up to date there.

Note: Your blog must be present on the networks, but remember that its purpose is to direct traffic to your website and not the other way around.

Take care of your images

Lastly, choosing good images can make a significant difference to your content, as a striking image can make the difference between someone landing on your article or not.

Also, if these are optimized, you will do a favor to users who visit you from their mobile phones.

And that would be all! Have you been writing on a blog for a long time? Leave us your tips in the comments!
