How to change the number of posts displayed on your blog with WordPress

First, we access the WordPress administration page, through wp-admin or wp-login.php

Once we are in our dashboard, we go to settings -> reading. We will see that we find several options. All of them are useful, but we are going to focus only on two of them.

First, we must make sure that the post page is correctly indicated and we have in the selector the page corresponding to our blog.

And then, in the section Maximum number of entries to display on the site we will have to write the number of entries that we want to display on our entries page. We can write any number we want, from 1 to infinity.

From my point of view, we should display between 7-12 posts on our blog page.

If we show more than 12 posts, on our blog page with images, title and text excerpt, the page can be very heavy and slow to load. Google does not like this at all and we have to try to make our website load as quickly as possible.

If the user never gets to see entry number 12 because they end up clicking before, then it's better not to load it and that saves us.

On the other hand, if we show only 3, our blog page will seem to have little content and it can also be negative for SEO, since when the entries go to old pages it can be more difficult for the user to find them.

Also, we will have to take into account the design of our site and specify what number of entries is more in line with our blog.
