Speakers, volunteers and collaborators had to get up early to get everything ready. At 9:30 in the morning, we open the doors of the center to welcome the 164 Attendees. Even the invisible man came, see if you can perceive it in the video ???? (later we learned his real name).

Job opportunities in the digital world», in which more than one signed up for some other job opportunity that perhaps had not occurred to him. One of the work outings that was discussed was that of copy and if you missed our podcast interviewing a great professional in the sector, you are already taking time. But the most important thing they wanted to convey in the presentation was the importance of training, a theme that was repeated throughout the day.

Then it was the time to network. We prepare a dynamic with attendees which began with a theoretical definition of what it is and a graphic demonstration of what it is NOT. To get into real practice.

Roberto, with a microphone in hand, went through the public to ask for volunteers. At first crickets were heard out of shame, but since the first one came out, everyone wanted to participate in the dynamic. It basically consisted of simulate a conversation with a company which was divided into two steps:

  • Introduce yourself personally and professionally to the company.
  • Explain the benefits that this company would have if they hired you.

We ended up very happy with the exercise because we met students with a more than interesting profile. I'm sure that very cool labor relations come from here;).

After half an hour of rest, it was the turn of «Master nit, who knows everything and understands nothing. Specialize!" with Isa Navarro, a servant. I started my presentation exposing a small part of the harsh reality of youth unemployment in the province of Cádiz, but also about all the possibilities that are expected in the digital labor market. The rapid advance of digitization has been the cause of the creation of new jobs and, therefore, of new job opportunities for the following generations.

Once it was clear that specializing today is vital, it was the turn of Victor Saenz with his presentation "Prepare (well) to access digital employment". We continue on the same thread: training, training and training. but one real, practical, specific and professional training.

From mowomo, we want to answer the new employment needs of the young population from the process of technological and digital change. Víctor explained the training offer that we are going to impart in the mowomo house (yes, our offices have names). But we have been forced to increase it by 10 more places due to the good reception it had among the students attending the #JEDi2019. Our initial idea was 20 places, but now we have expanded to 30 practical training places:

  • 6 squares for web design.
  • 6 places for web development.
  • 6 places for digital marketing.
  • 6 seats for web support and maintenance.

The main theme was «Present and future of digital employment» and we got to live somewhat compromised debates. In short, digital employment was discussed from different points of view, but they all came to the same conclusion: digital employment is real but it is necessary to prepare properly.

"Who is hungry, thinks of bread" or any other saying about hunger can describe the following image. Just before going out to eat, we had organized the photo with all attendees. What happened? People were hungry, and that's why not even half of those who were there that day did not show up. Let's take notes for the next one 😉
