7 reasons why your online store should incorporate a blog

If you have decided to create your Online store with WooCommerceI am going to give you 7 reasons why, from my point of view, you should incorporate a blog y periodically publish posts talking about your products.

I think that, even if you have an e-commerce, very elaborate, with an impressive and wonderful appearance, it is not enough, you have to make yourself known. Let's take advantage of the potential of a blog in an online store and show the world our products.

Add a blog to an online store

7 Reasons to incorporate a blog in an online store:

1.- If we start from a CMS like WordPress and install WooCommerce as an online store manager, natively WordPress already incorporates the blog, we do not have to program, modify or add anything else, WordPress already comes standard, you do not have to make any effort, you can no longer make that excuse to include a blog in an online store, all you have to do is write: ).

2.- The descriptions of the products in an online store tend to be, in general, scarce and little worked, and sometimes we limit ourselves to putting the information provided by the manufacturer that supplies us with the product, instead, in an informative article in the blog, we can even include a comparison of products with similar characteristics, indicating qualities, prices, measurements, colors, etc., and of course, the links to the products in the store so that those interested can buy our products.

3.- The pages that make up some e-commerce CMS, the URLs up to the products are usually long and unfriendly, unless we remove the base URL from the store directory.
In the case of blog posts, the URLs are totally friendly, with which you will have many possibilities that Google rewards it, placing your entry in a better position than the product in your online store.

4.- The products published in an online store usually have little movement or are practically static, the descriptive texts do not vary much from when we publish it until we stop selling it. Instead, if we publish regularly in our blog about tips for use or new colors or perhaps a trick or tips to use it in this or that way, offers, discounts, etc., indexing in Google will be much faster.

5.- Product names alone don't usually sellUnless our future client knows exactly what they want and finds us by title. It is much more likely that our future customers find us by an article on the blog than by the description of a product or its name.

I give you an example:

Product name: LED Panel ECOLINE 300x300x12mm 12W 1000Lm 30.000H

Post title example: How to choose the best lighting for your office? with comparison of energy expenditure, prices, quality etc.

Unless you specifically search for that item, I don't think you'll get to the product by name. But if your client is thinking of changing the lighting in the office, maybe he will find the post where you offer him the comparison or advise him on the best lighting for his office.

6.- It's a lot easier for your visitors to share a post on your blog in social networks, than a product from your store, with which, it will be much faster to gain a foothold in social networks and increase your audience, than only uploading new products or making discounts.

7.- The more you write about your products, the more possibility of appearing better positioned you will have. Although I am not SEO, I am clear that the more text that accompanies a link to a product in your store, the more relevance it will have.

If you doubt, incorporating a blog in your online store is a good idea, you should know that you have to work a little more, but I think the result will compensate you. Study a publication strategy, see if your visitors value your work, sharing or buying, and of course measure the results.
